FIRST is a volunteer-driven and operated organization. Our success is a direct result of the extraordinary commitment of individuals who give their time and resources. FIRST’s volunteers include: community leaders, employees of corporate sponsors, teachers, parents, university students and faculty, and FIRST alumni and friends.
The Volunteer Information & Matching System (VIMS) helps FIRST match people with volunteer opportunities at FIRST. Register at this website to let us know how you’d like to participate:
Their are four main ways that you can help out:
|
Start a FRC Team! Organize a group of high school students with the purpose of letting them explore their creative robotic dreams (and live some yourself). More details can be found here. |
Join the Oregon Regional FRC Planning Committee! Support our FIRST Regional Director in a multitude of areas like team development, publicity, community outreach and much more at a state level. Register in VIMS and indicate your interest in the Planning committee. |
|
Mentor a FRC Team! Teach students your expertise in areas like programming, project management, mechanical design and fund raising. Watch them grow! OregonFIRST teams are listed here. FIRST has published an excellent document on how to mentor a team. Download it here. |
Volunteer at Oregon Regional FRC Tournament in March! Sign up for one or more days of this three day event at Robot Inspectors, Queuing, Field Reset, etc to help the tournament run smoothly (and get to watch the students close up)! Register in VIMS for your requested positions. We’ll need volunteers for many areas. Some include:
Volunteers do not have to commit themselves for the entire weekend. However, we do require a full day commitment in order to keep the process manageable. Volunteers must be over the age of 12. We hope to hear from you. If you are interested please register soon at the FIRST volunteer management website. |
Thank you for your support!
