In the 2012-2013 season, the Green Wrenches’ marketing sub-team has been growing in skills and knowledge. Led by Olea G., a sophomore from Evergreen High School, the marketing team has been producing a monthly newsletter and frequently updating the Green Wrenches’ Facebook and Twitter accounts. Some notable projects we have done so far are writing grants, creating sponsor presentations, and helping plan Kickoff, which we have hosted for three years in a row. Currently, the marketing team is the process of composing marketing plan. But our main focus right now is our entry for the Chairman’s awards, and planning our Chili Cook Off Fundraiser. The role of the marketing team is to promote our team in a positive light to potential members, sponsors, our FIRST family, and the community—to keep everyone informed about the great things we are doing and trying to take our team to the next level. For Regional’s, the marketing team is working on ordering fun, spirit items. The season has been very productive and we look forward to competitions!

Our marketing sub-team covers our team’s logistics, from the pit design at competitions to communications with other teams. Their main focus this season has been on redesigning our pit in order to optimize space for displaying sponsors, awards, and most importantly for working on our robot. Along with this task, the marketing team has been working away on our 2013’s chairman’s submission video and essay. They are also responsible for keeping our team stylish with a new t-shirt and snazzy flame button design every year. The strategy team is narrowing in on who will take the reins on the drive team for this year’s competitions. With a new holonomic drive base, our carefully selected drive team will have to work together to conquer the challenges it presents. Our web team keeps our team organized, keeping our team’s website updated with photos and important dates.
For this year’s Portland Autodesk regional, our marketing team is planning to give out personalized ‘flame’ 1425 awards to outstanding teams that help our team and demonstrate coopertition.
