Team 997, Corvalis High School, had a wild week!
We began the week with snow. We welcome the end of week 2 with flooding. Corvallis has been inundated by the Willamette, and the school district has closed our build space. We are currently seeking the use of another team’s space for the weekend.
We have decided on a drive base and a system for ball manipulation; that has probably been the greatest accomplishment. We sent the drawings for the drive base off to one of our sponsors, STH Machining, who has generously donated time and effort to the team (Thanks Stan!). It looks like we will be on track to complete our robot in time with our schedule.
Our programmers are currently having fun working with PID and control for the robot, and the Java code is coming along nicely. One of our mentors, Manley Thompson, has generously built a a practice field for the team, consisting of a bridge, a bump, and a scoring rack. Thanks, Manley!
