3rd Annual Summer Camp for FIRST students
Machining and Manufacturing
Portland Community College
June 28 – July 16
Max 20 FIRST students (min age 15)
Applications due by June 7
This program will expose FIRST high school students (minimum age of 15 years old) to Portland Community College’s (PCC) Machine Manufacturing Technology (MMT) program. After this initial three week training class, participants will be allowed to manufacture parts using PCC’s Machine Manufacturing Technology department and equipment for their robots through next years build season.
The only expense for participating students is possibly parking or transportation costs while on PCC’s campus. This program waives about $600 in tuition and lab fees per student for two courses totaling seven college credits!
Initially, we are accepting two primary representative members from each team for the camp, up until June 7th. After June 7th we will open up the process to others to fill the class. The class will be limited to 20 attendees for safety reasons and will require a minimum of 15 enrollees to run the class. If you cannot attend all days of the camp which will run from June 28th through July 16th, please do not apply as a primary attendee for your team. We will not hold class on Monday July 5th in observance of Independence Day.
